Precautions Related to Toggle Switches
Caution with Chemicals
The base of the toggle switch is made of synthetic resins such as polycarbonate. Avoid exposing the switch to strong concentrations of chemicals such as ammonia, amines, alkaline solutions, aliphatic hydrocarbons, ketones, esters, and halogenated hydrocarbons.
Caution with Flux
When soldering, avoid using water-soluble flux, as it may adversely affect the metal and other materials that constitute the toggle switch.
Soldering
The wiring design and soldering method should prevent molten solder from flowing onto the flat surface of the PCB, as this may cause poor contact.
Low-Temperature Operation
If the product is intended for use in low-temperature environments (e.g., car radios or audio systems in cold regions), our company can provide products with a more comfortable tactile response upon customer request. Please specify this requirement when placing an order.
Lever Length
The shorter the lever length, the better (minimum 5 mm). With the lever width (A) remaining constant, a shorter lever length improves tactile feel. Conversely, a higher actuation point worsens the tactile response.
Actuator Arm
Do not position the operating point too far from the centerline of the lever. For the same reason, the distance (B) between them should be as short as possible.
